My wife (Ashley) and I are leaving for vacation tomorrow! We won’t be back until September 13th.
We are going back home to Joplin Missouri to see our old friends and family (and to slack some more). It’s been over nine months since we’ve been home and we are certainly looking forward to getting away from work. We are also going to be stopping over in Kansas City to see some of my co-workers and my brother (Jon, whom I haven’t seen in 8 years).
The plan is to start driving Friday afternoon until we get around halfway there and then get a room for the night. It’s a total of 11 hours on the road and that doesn’t include stopping for food and breaks. I pick up the rental car tomorrow afternoon and I’m only doing a half day at the office Friday.
I don’t normally take vacations this long but if I’m driving 11 hours, I want to stay awhile wherever we are. We both need a break from our jobs. My wife is a manager of two retail stores here in Dayton and I am the IT director for an online advertising agency.
We’ll be taking plenty of pictures and will be posting them on here for everyone to see.
